What a winter we've had! Another storm is hitting the Maritimes hard and I've been forced to cancel the remaining Uncorked ICE tours due to safety concerns at the caves. I don't know about you, but Spring can't come fast enough, I even bought my seeds yesterday from Anne at The Feel Good Store.
Back in February I was honoured to receive the Faces of Fusion award for Business and Entrepreneurship. There were two other finalists and I want to wish them congratulations as well. Fusion is a great organization that focuses on helping young professionals and newcomers to our city network and make friends. Being recognized by an organization focused on young professionals is a great feeling. Thank you, thank you, thank you! St. Paddy's Day is right around the corner, and most people will be celebrating this weekend. I know that beer and whiskey are the drinks of choice on the 17th, but I think I'll be finding some nice, crisp Vinho Verde to celebrate my Irish heritage. The Ford World Women's Curling Championship starts this Saturday in Saint John and the city has already gone "curling crazy". Teams from all over the world have flown into the Port City and Harbour Station has been transformed to a curling arena. It's awesome! There are not a many wine events going on right now, March seems to be beer season. The Fredericton Craft Beer Fest was a huge blast, the SJ Beer Fest is coming up in a few weeks, and lots of pairing dinners in between. Craig Pinhey will be returning from Australia soon and will be hosting an Aussie wine tasting at happinez upon his return. Finally, Uncorked Tours has been selected to participate in a tourism trade mission to Niagara-on-the-Lake at the end of March. I'm excited to learn tips and tricks to make sure I'm always delivering the absolute best service and quality possible. It also doesn't hurt to be in wine region. I'll be sure to take photos and update everyone when I return. Cheers, Gill
